Jacob Lawrence — Telling the Stories of History and Community
We’ll explore the powerful storytelling of Jacob Lawrence, an artist who used bold colors and simple shapes to tell the stories of families, migration, and everyday people shaping their own futures. Families will learn how art can be a way of preserving history and honoring lived experience.
Through guided looking, discussion, and hands-on creative work, children and adults will explore how their own stories connect to the larger world around them.
✨ Expect:
• A family-friendly art history talk
• Guided looking & discussion
• Creative making inspired by Lawrence’s storytelling
• Time for exploration, connection & community
🎨 Art history • Creative making • Community
